All forty eight existing flats as well as communal areas were completely stripped out including all fixtures, fittings, mechanical and electrical services as well as non-structural walls.
The layout was reconfigured in order to create fifty new one and two bedroom residential units
The construction of a new ten storey structure to house an additional lift and lift lobby was completed at the rear of the building. The buildings existing lift was also removed and replaced with new.
Externally, the building was modernised to exceed building regulations in regards to thermal performance. This included a new insulated roof covering, new windows and a Trespa insulated cladding system.
Steelwork was added to the roof in order to allow the installation of solar panels. This provides the hot water for the flats. Balcony balustrades were removed and replaced with new stainless steel and glass
Internally, new partitions, mechanical and electrical services, kitchen and bathroom fixtures and fittings, joinery items, tiling, vinyl flooring and decoration were completed. The basement was reconfigured to provide a bicycle store, bins stores, recycling stores and plant rooms.
Two new riser shafts were built into the communal areas in order to provide service routes throughout the building. New decoration, joinery items and floor finishes were provided throughout the communal areas, as well as a new staircase balustrade.
